Tata Motors plans to introduce the electric version of its Indica hatchback, the Indica in Norway in 2009 and a year later in India. The low cost cars, now going electric, its pretty cool. Its going to be the elctric version of the Indica which is already on the Indian Market. It is a petrol version. Tata is curently working on 5 so it seems that the Indica will be the first one to hit the European market.

The protype model was introduced at the SIAM exchibition and used imported lithium and could cover 175km to 200km on a fully charged two-pack battery, but the mileage could vary according to battery usage.

The E-car will be built in cooperation with the Norwegian electric car specialist firm Miljoebil Grenland. Miljobil Grenland is the front runner in the European electric car market with ongoing research and development in new zero emission technologies.
